The Interclub Challenge will be this Sunday July 22th.
We will again be having it at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield/Montclair, starting at 9am at the upper parking lot. As always, 3 laps on around the park roads (3.3 miles total).
This is an informal / unofficial club competition; no fees, no t-shirts, no goodie bag. Every runner counts!
Everyone needs to get there before 8:15am so they can get their handicap (in minutes) / Start time, and Bib number.
This run is handicapped based on age and sex (WAVA tables), so the oldest and most feminine start first. The young males start many minutes back. Everyone else in-between. Every finisher counts for the best club!
Runners will be started every 30 seconds based on your age & sex, so everyone has a shot to be the first runner in. Runners’ finishing positions are added up for club scoring. Each person will need to count their our laps!!
This year we are doing a t-shirt & shoe drive for the patients at Greystone Hospital. Some of you may know Pete Engelhardt of CRRC who works there and he will be giving the shirts & shoes to patients. So go through your tshirt draws and bring your shirts and lightly used running shoes!
Also, As in prior years, feel free to bring refreshments and stuff to make a late-morning / mid-day picnic of it. Coffee, water, and bagels & donuts will be provided by Essex.
And, of course, if you can’t run we will need volunteers to man the intersections and finish.
