Last Chance to get the NYC Marathon Bus!

NYC Marathon

Once again, Essex Running Club is providing a bus from Montclair for the NYC Marathon. This is the most convenient way to get to and from the race for runners and spectators in the northern New Jersey area.

Details are on the attached flyer, but in a nutshell, the bus:

  • leaves Grove Pharmacy at 6:00am (for runners) and 9:00am (for spectators)
  • departs NYC at 5:00pm.
  • offers food round-trip
  • costs $25 (ERC members), $30 (non-members) or $15 (child accompanying a parent)

You can book your reservation at Fleet Feet in person or mail (603 Bloomfield Ave., Montclair, NJ 07042). For more information, contact Fleet Feet at 973-509-9707.  All registrants will receive an email with detailed instructions a week before the marathon.

One Response to “Last Chance to get the NYC Marathon Bus!”

  1. See note below. We’ll be holding our own “substitute” marathon in Rockland
tomorrow morning, 9 a.m. in Sparkill, which is near the N.J. border. Come
    on over if so inclined.

    —————
We have found a clean and safe mile-long stretch on the Joseph Clarke
Rail-Trail in Sparkill, so the run is on! This course does not interfere
with any roadways and will not have any effects on the surrounding
    community.

Although this is a Marathon Alternative, you do not have to come out to
run the full 26.2 miles to participate. All runners are welcome and we
just ask that everyone consider making a donation. RRR will be matching
all funds raised and will be passing everything along to an established
organization involved in the relief effort for Hurricane Sandy.

I also just want to reiterate that this is not an organized event and the
point is not to race. We want to bring everyone together to support each
    other and those in need.

We will be meeting tomorrow, Sunday morning, at 9 a.m. at the Sparkill
    portion of the trail.
