At the Races

Catherine REPEATS!

     For the second year in a row, the ERC is proud to announce that our own Catherine Smith is the top overall female runner in the USATF-NJ Grand Prix.

Catherine finished with 5698 out of 5700 points. (Kavitha Marley finished with 5677 and Misa Tamura finished with 5659.)  She finished 1st in 8 out of 9 qualifying races.

Catherine is considered national class and also ran on the Fleet Feet/Essex open racing team.

In addition to Catherine, the following club members have placed in the USATF-NJ Grand Prix series and will receiving awards in January at the annual USATF-NJ Awards Banquet.

Overall Grand Prix Series

Female Overall 1st – Catherine Smith

Male 50-54 – 1st = Larry Czaplewski

Female 50-54 – 1st= Amanda King

Male 80-84 – 3rd = George Studzinski

Mini 1 Grand Prix Series

Male 40-44 – 1st = Michael Gorman

Male 70-74 – 3rd = Tom Kelly

Mini 2 Grand Prix Series

Male 40-44 – 1st = Michael Gorman

Male 40-44 – 2nd = Mark Frankel

Male 50-54 – 2nd = Michael Sneden

Male 50-54 – 3rd = Gerald Velli

Female 55-59 – 1st = Martta Kelly

Male 70-74 – 2nd = Tom Kelly

The 21st Annual USATF New Jersey Awards Banquet is being held on January 19th, 2013, at the Pines Manor in Edison, New Jersey and is open to everyone. It’s a good way to show support for your fellow club members receiving awards and a night out to socialize with other runners from the state. For more details please see the link below:
