ERC NYC Marathon Bus The best way to get there and back in Northern NJ

NYC Marathon

Once again, The Essex Running Club is providing buses for the NYC Marathon again this year departing from Grove Pharmacy (123 Grove Street, Montclair) at 5:30 am for runners and 9:00 am for spectators.

This is the most convenient way to get to and from the race for runners and spectators in the northern New Jersey area.

They will take runners directly to the starting area on Staten Island and spectators to Columbus Circle near the finish in Central Park. The buses are leaving earlier this year to help avoid the congestion getting to the start. Runners should plan to arrive by 5:15 am so the buses can leave on time.

Free parking is available near the pharmacy but please do not park on Grove Street in front of the store.

We expect to have one bus returning from New York City at 4:00 pm and another at 5:30 pm leaving from Central Park West between 86th and 90th St. We may change the departure times for the return trip depending on the estimated finish times of the runners in each of the waves. We will confirm the time and location for the return trip via e-mail the week before the race. It usually takes about 45 mins to return to Grove Pharmacy. Bagels, bananas, and water will be provided in the morning, other food and drinks after the race and on the way home. There will be a bathroom on each bus and you will be able to leave your bag on the bus.

Book your reservation early to be sure of a seat. Registration will close on October 15 or when we reach capacity. The cost is $25 for members of the Essex Running Club or their immediate family, $35 for non-members and $15 for any children (18 and under) accompanied by an adult.

There are three ways to register:
